Good Samaritan Hospital – Kings County Care Center
Hanford, CA

Project Overview
Funded through California’s Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program (BHCIP), the Kings County Care Center will bring multiple levels of treatment together in an integrated campus designed to meet the needs of the community. The approximately 24,000-square-foot facility will combine three levels of care: a 16-bed Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) for acute inpatient treatment, an 8-bed Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) providing up to 23 hours of stabilization, and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offering intensive daytime treatment for adults who do not require 24-hour care.
Flexibility was central to the design. As Kings County’s needs evolved, the program was reconfigured to double the PHF’s capacity from 8 to 16 beds without increasing the building footprint. This adaptability allows the facility to respond to changing care demands while making efficient use of the available space.
EIR leads design management and coordinates the consultant team in collaboration with Lowney Architecture. As the project advances, EIR will also oversee modular fabrication and coordinate construction delivery, carrying the project from design into execution.
